Post-arrival Procedure

This guide outlines the essential administrative and logistical requirements you must complete immediately after your arrival to ensure a smooth transition to life at Perdana University.

Step 1: Report Day
  • Location: 5th Floor, Wisma Chase Perdana.

  • Compulsory Briefing: All new students must attend the post-arrival briefing. Refer to your email for your specific orientation date.

  • Forms to Complete: You are required to fill out the Endorsement of Student Pass application checklist and the Medical Examination form.

Step 2: Opening a Bank Account

The Registrar’s Office (RO) will provide full guidance on this process.

Procedure to open a bank account:

  1. Student Request: Inform the RO of your intention to open a bank account.
  2. Request Form: The RO will provide the Student Bank Account Request Form.
  3. Submission: Fill in all required details and return the completed form to the RO.
  4. Verification Letter: The RO will prepare and issue an official Verification Letter confirming your student status.
  5. Bank Visit: Visit the nearest bank branch, preferably between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM on weekdays.
  6. Account Request: State your wish to open a student savings account and request:
    • Debit/ATM card.
    • Online and mobile banking access.
Step 3: Medical Examination

Timeline: Medical screening must be completed within 3 days of arrival in Malaysia.

This screening must be conducted at recommended EMGS Panel Clinics.

  • Requirements: Bring your Medical Examination form, one (1) photo, your passport, and the student post-arrival checklist.
  • Outcome: You must receive a medical acknowledgement slip from the clinic.
  • Important Note: Students who fail the medical examination may appeal for a second examination. If the second examination is failed, you will be required to return to your home country immediately.

Recommended Clinics:

  • Kumpulan Medic, Bangunan KWSP: Monday–Friday (8:30 AM–5:00 PM), Saturday (8:30 AM–1:00 PM; 2:00 PM–4:00 PM).
  • Klinik Catterall, Khoo and Raja Malek (Plaza Sentral): Monday–Friday (8:00 AM–4:30 PM), Saturday (8:00 AM–12:00 PM).
  • Klinik Catterall Khoo and Raja Malek (Menara CIMB): Monday–Friday (8:30 AM–4:30 PM), Saturday (8:30 AM–12:00 PM).
Step 4: Report to the Faculty

After administrative reporting, you must report to your specific Faculty, Institute, Centre, or School.

  • English Requirements: Students not meeting the university’s English requirements must sit for the English Placement Test (EPT) conducted by the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Humanities.
  • English Programme: Depending on EPT results, you may be required to undergo an English programme prior to your academic programme.
  • Academic Advice: Meet with your Head of School or Programme Coordinator for advice on course selection for the current semester.
Step 5: Passport Submission for Endorsement

Location: Visa Office, Level 5.

You MUST submit your passport for student pass endorsement (multiple entry) according to the schedule provided during your briefing.

  • Submission Requirements:
    • Original passport with at least 18 months’ validity.
    • Entry visa or Special Pass with at least 10 working days’ validity.
    • Medical Examination acknowledgement slip.
  • Undertaking: You will fill out an Undertaking Letter and receive a certified copy of your passport while the original is being processed.
  • Processing Time: Note that it can take at least 60 days for the Malaysian Immigration Department to issue the Visa Approval Letter.
