Programme Overview

The Bachelor of Education (Hons.) in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) is designed to equip future educators with both a broad and specialised understanding of English language teaching. The programme aims to develop graduates who possess a diverse, yet in-depth, grounding in educational theory, linguistic principles, and pedagogical skills. A core focus is on preparing students to teach English effectively in a wide range of international, regional, and national contexts. Entry Requirements

i. A pass in STPM with a minimum of Grade C (GPA 2.00) in any two (2) subjects
ii. A pass in STAM with a minimum grade of Jayyid
iii. A Diploma with a minimum CGPA of 2.00
iv. Matriculation/Foundation with a minimum CGPA of 2.00
v. Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government

English Language Requirements

Local Students
MUET Band 3 (minimum)

International Students
Pass the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a score of at least 550; OR
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a score of at least 6.0; OR Any equivalent qualification.
