Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rajasingam Shanmugam graduated with an MBBS from the University of Mysore, South India in 1983 and was later a Member of the Royal College of Physicians Ireland in June 1998 and became a Fellow at the Royal College of Physicians Glasgow in May 2010. He has a wealth of experience working at government hospitals in Sabah, Pahang and Perak, and also private hospitals in Kuala Lumpur and Brunei. Dr Rajasingam later left full-time practice in December 2004 and took up a full-time academic position as a senior lecturer and examiner at the Royal College of Medicine Perak (then affiliated to The University of Sheffield, UK) with practicing rights as a Consultant Physician with special interest in non-interventional cardiology. He was then promoted to Associate Professor in Clinical Medicine at the institution in January 2010. Dr Rajasingam then joined Perdana University in 2016 as the Director of Advanced Clerkships, Graduate School of Medicine. He is an active member of the National Heart Association of Malaysia.
