PU-CBi joins International Desktop Grid Federation (IDGF) as a member

 International Desktop Grid Federation (IDGF)
Perdana University – Centre for Bioinformatics (PU-CBi) officially joined the International Desktop Grid Federation (IDGF) as an institutional member on 29 September 2014. As a member, PU-CBi will get access to the IDGF resources, support from desktop grid experts and opportunity to participate in IDGF events. Mr. Muhammad Farhan Sjaugi, Chair for the IDGF South-East Asian Chapter welcomed PU-CBi as a member of the community and lauded Perdana University’s support for global e-infrastructure for e-science research.

The IDGF is a member organisation that brings together people from companies, universities and institutes that are interested in using Desktop Grids, Desktop Clouds, which allow application of otherwise idle computing time of Desktop computers for large computational programmes. Currently, there are over 35 organisations and more than 200 individuals members of the Federation.
